Jagan starts building ‘YSR Batch’

YS Jagan Mohan did not anticipate losing power. He never imagined, even in his wildest dreams, that he would obtain only 11 MLAs out of 175. He experienced the most humiliating defeat in the 2024 Andhra Pradesh assembly elections. However, he does not relinquish anything readily. He resolves to retaliate and reclaim authority. He has already initiated a strategy for this purpose.

Jagan has resolved to incorporate individuals he deems closest to YS Rajasekhar Reddy into the party, particularly as his family members have estranged him.

YSR Batch

His father, YS Rajasekhar Reddy, the previous Chief Minister of United Andhra Pradesh, possessed an exceptional cadre of leaders and a substantial fanbase. By establishing a “YSR Batch” within his party, Jagan aims to convey to the public and his party members that he possesses a long-term strategy. This will also enhance his moral fortitude.

Leaders require post-delimitation

Post-2026, the delimitation of parliamentary and assembly constituencies will be augmented. The party requires additional leaders to accommodate the growing number of assembly constituencies. Therefore, he is recognizing the necessity for senior leaders and incorporating them into the party.

Engaging the primary social class

Jagan is reported to have already engaged with leaders from significant socioeconomic classes in several regions. Reports indicate that some leaders are making direct trips to Bangalore for meetings. Jagan has guaranteed that if they join the party, they will receive appropriate precedence when attaining power. Although certain senior leaders lack interest in politics, they anticipate favorable outcomes by involving their offspring in the party.

YS Jagan is alleged to have reached out to a former Union Minister in the East Godavari district. The individual requested an MP ticket, to which Jagan allegedly acquiesced.

Sake Sailajanadh, a recent defector from Congress, is providing assistance to him.

To checkmate Sharmila

If he can attract previous Congress leaders, Jagan can neutralize his sister YS Sharmila, who has opposed him. The Congress vote bank has reportedly transitioned to the YSRCP, as the party failed to secure deposits in the last three elections, despite obtaining forty percent of the votes in the last election. Provided all proceeds favorably, numerous additions will occur prior to Jagan’s district tour initiation.
