The first Hyderabad outlet, located on Road No. 4, KPHB, quickly gained popularity, leading to multiple branches across the city and state.However, concerns over hygiene and food quality at its branches and franchises have grown over the years. During a recent inspection at Subbayya Gari Hotel, Kondapur, Gachibowli Road, officials from the Commissioner of Food Safety identified multiple violations under the Food Safety and Standards Act.Unhygienic conditionsThe inspecting teams reported severe lapses in hygiene, including:📖 Must Read: Do Bollywood films distort marriages?Unclean kitchen environment – Patchy and broken flooring, dirty walls, and an overall lack of cleanliness.Poor waste management – Clogged and overflowing drains, with food waste not being removed regularly.Negligence in food handling – Staff were found without head caps, gloves, or other necessary hygiene gear.Dirty and poorly maintained cooking equipment – Grease buildup on exhaust systems, unclean stoves, and improperly stored utensils.Substandard food storage – Vegetables stored improperly, causing them to dry out, and a neglected, poorly maintained storeroom.Health and safety violations – No records of water quality analysis, pest control measures, or medical fitness certificates for food handlers.Further investigationsOfficials also noted that used cooking oil was not being tested for Total Polar Compounds (TPC), a critical safety parameter.
