NTR sets date for ‘NTRNeel’ shooting

NTR and Prashanth Neel have joined forces. Long ago, they announced their first collaborative project with a tentative hashtag—#NTRNeel—but there have been rumors about delays in its shooting. Although Prashanth Neel began its regular shooting long ago and completed a shooting schedule in Ramoji Film City with other actors, NTR didn’t join the sets yet.

Putting an end to swirling rumors of production delays, the team today released an official statement announcing that NTR will join the shooting schedule on April 22, 2025.

The announcement comes amidst months of speculation and uncertainty surrounding the project’s timeline. Fans and industry insiders had expressed concerns over potential delays.

NTR’s lean look

NTR until now was filming for “War 2”—his Bollywood debut alongside Hrithik Roshan. Except for one song, the filming of “War 2” has been wrapped up. NTR also lost weight drastically for this film. But even after his return from Tokyo, NTR didn’t join the sets of Neel’s movie. This has led to various speculations.

Reports suggested that NTRNeel might be pushed back. However, today’s statement from the production houses, Mythri Movie Makers and NTR Arts, has firmly dispelled those fears, reaffirming their commitment to delivering the film as promised.

In a post shared on social media, the makers declared, “#NTRNeel is entering its most explosive phase. Man of Masses @Tarak9999 steps into the destructive soil from April 22nd. #PrashanthNeel @MythriOfficial @NTRArtsOfficial @NTRNeelFilm.”

The statement not only confirms the actor’s joining date but also signals that the production is on track to meet its ambitious timeline, with just over eight months remaining until its Pongal 2026 release.

Multiple locations

Sources close to the production reveal that the upcoming schedule, starting April 22, will see NTR dive into key scenes, with filming planned across multiple locations, including international hotspots like Sri Lanka, Mexico, and Ukraine. The project, described as a period-action drama centered on immigration and heroism, is expected to showcase NTR in a never-before-seen avatar, blending Neel’s signature raw intensity with the actor’s commanding screen presence.

Birthday treat!

The film’s title, rumored to be Dragon, has not yet been announced. Fans are expecting this announcement on NTR’s birthday on May 20, 2025.

The film boasts a stellar technical crew, including composer Ravi Basrur and cinematographer Bhuvan Gowda, both trusted collaborators of Neel. While the full cast remains under wraps, speculation persists about Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas, Kannada actress Rukmini Vasanth, and veteran Biju Menon joining the ensemble.
