Jailer 2: Filming commenced today

The sequel to the 2023 blockbuster “Jailer” starring superstar Rajnikanth is happening. “Jailer 2” officially began filming today at a studio in Chennai.

Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures, the sequel will see the comeback of superstar Rajinikanth as the “Tiger” Muthuvel Pandian, a character that redefined his box-office supremacy in the original.

The initial schedule, designated for 14 days in Chennai, commenced this morning with the crew engaging in production; however, portions featuring Rajinikanth will be filmed later since the superstar is busy working on Coolie with director Lokesh Kanagaraj.

Nelson Dilipkumar, recognized for his dark comedic style, is reportedly developing “Jailer 2” on a more expansive scale than its predecessor.

Music composer Anirudh Ravichander, whose score enhanced Jailer to cult status, returns to oversee the soundtrack, promising another chart-topping album.

Ramyakrishna will continue playing Rajinikanth’s wife. The second part will also feature a repeat of Mirnaa.
