Vijayashanti and Dasoju Sravan to become MLCs

Dasoju Sravan, a senior leader of BRS and a notable figure in the Telangana state movement, is poised to assume the position of MLC. BRS President K. Chandrasekhar Rao declared his nomination for MLC under the MLA quota.

The State unit of the Communist Party of India (CPI) has designated Nellikanti Satyam as its candidate for the MLC elections under the MLA quota.

The Congress party has nominated actress Vijayashanti as a candidate for MLC. Congress has shortlisted two additional candidates: Addanki Dayakar and Shankar Naik.

Dasoju Sravan had been associated with KCR for several years; nevertheless, he experienced a disagreement with the former chief minister and subsequently defected to Congress. During KCR’s rule, Dasoju Sravan predominantly occupied an opposition role. He returned to his original party shortly before the recent elections. In 2023, KCR appointed him as MLC using the governor’s quota; however, Tamilisai Soundararajan subsequently rejected his nomination. Since that time, Dasoju Sravan has been awaiting the opportunity to secure an MLC seat. Now, he is poised to become MLC due to the BRS possessing a sufficient number of MLAs.

Vijayashanti from Congress

Vijayashantii, a seasoned actress and notable activist of the Telangana movement, has not actively participated in the Congress party since Revanth Reddy assumed the role of chief minister. Nevertheless, the congressional leadership acknowledged her significance and contributions to the party, appointing her as MLC. VIjayashanti, a national-award-winning actress and the first female superstar in Telugu cinema, experienced a rift with KCR and transitioned from the Telangana Rashtra Samiti to the Congress party. She is finally on track to become an MLC after much anticipation.
