2000-Acre Rajiv Gandhi eco-park mooted!

To save from the Supreme Court’s serious order in the Kancha Gachibowi lands, the Revanth Reddy government has now mooted a new proposal to build an eco-park on the 2000-acre land and name it after late Prime Minister and Congress leader Rajiv Gandhi.

Revanth Reddy proposed this plan to defuse the situation and gain approval from the high command by naming the park after Rajiv Gandhi.

Where are the 2000-acre lands exist?

The existing Kancha Gachibowli lands cover an area of 400 acres. How can the Revanthanth Reddy government build a 2000-acre park? According to a report in the Timesimes of India, the government will propose to take over the remaining 16000 acres ofs of landof the Universitysity of Hyderabad, from from whichthe university is currently operating

The government will be proposing to the university to shift to the proposed Future City. On more than 100 acres, the new university buildings will be constructed, and the university will be shifted there. In the existing 1600-acre land along with Kancha Gachibowli lands, a mega eco-park on the lines of Singapore Night Safari and New York’s Central Park will be designed.

Will the university agree to this

This is not going to happen easily. The university should agree to transfer the lands to state government. The Union government should also agree to it. Will student bodies agree? Would the students, who have protested the sale of the adjacent 400-acre land, agree to hand over their entire university land to the state government? This whole proposal seems to be a face-saving attempt.

When the current university spreads over 1600 acres, why would the university agree to a 100-acre new campus?
