The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Malka Komaraiah has won the Telangana Legislative Council election for the Karimnagar-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Medak Teachers’ constituency.

This victory highlights a potential shift in the political landscape in north Telangana and marks the BJP’s first major win in Telangana for such a position.

The Congress government-backed candidate in the ruling Congress lost to Malka Komraiah. Interestingly, another candidate backed by PRTU also secured an MLC seat.

Pingali Sripal Reddy, a candidate for the Progressive Recognized Teacher’s Union Telangana State (PRTUTS), defeated UTF candidate A. Narsi Reddy in the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Teachers constituency.

Elections for the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Teachers constituency were held on February 27.
