Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu always likes to use technology in governance. Creating E-seva centers and revolutionizing governance were hallmarks of his style in the late 1990s.
He has now given instructions to officials to focus on digital literacy in the state, with the objective of rendering the state entirely digitally literate.
In a review meeting at the Secretariat about how the public sees the Real Time Governance Society (RTGS), he stressed how important it is to use WhatsApp Governance to make services easier to access and cut down on the need for face-to-face office visits.
Realizing that people haven’t fully gotten used to WhatsApp Governance yet, Naidu told the authorities to raise awareness and gave District Collectors the job of pushing for its widespread use through secretaries and staff.
Naidu mandated the incorporation of QR codes for enhanced accessibility.
The Andhra Pradesh government is currently providing 200 services accessible over WhatsApp. An additional 150 services are expected to be incorporated shortly. The government is aiming for a total of 500 in the subsequent phase.
