The first political leader in South India who proposed couples have more children is Nara Chandrababu Naidu. For many years, he has been asking couples to have three or four children instead of planning for one or two.
Naidu predicted that South India will suffer a lot and lose political power if we continue to see the decline of population growth.
MK Stalin is echoing the same point.
A situation has emerged in which parliamentary constituencies are delineated according to population, resulting in a greater number of MPs in areas with higher populations. Therefore, I would not advise couples to defer childbearing as was customary in the past; instead, I would advocate for them to have children at the earliest possibility,” Stalin stated.
