West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee labeled the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj as ‘Mrityu Kumbh’, citing concerns over its management, which has led to a significant political and cultural backlash.
Her remarks have sparked criticism from various political figures and religious leaders, who argue that her comments lack sensitivity towards Hindu traditions.
Pawan Kalyan slams Mamta
Pawan Kalyan, the president of Jana Sena, was quick to slam her.
“I think the problem is it is very easy to comment on Sanatana Dharma. They are unable to apply the same level of criticism to any other religion. They don’t realize they are hurting the sentiments of crores of people,” he said.
Pawan Kalyan praised the Yogi government for making excellent arrangements.
Pawan Kalyan responded to Mamta’s criticism by saying, “Only people with narrowmindedness think about petty issues when a massive gathering is taking place.”
Meanwhile, Maha Kumbh, known as one of the largest religious gatherings, faces historical challenges with safety, highlighted by a recent stampede incident.
