Anna Lezhneva, wife of Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and actor Pawan Kalyan, made a generous donation of Rs 17 lakh to the Sri Venkateswara Anna Prasadam Trust at the Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Nithya Annadanam Complex in Tirumala today.
The contribution, made in the name of her son, Mark Shankar Pawanovich, is intended to support the trust’s initiative to provide free meals to devotees visiting the sacred Tirumala Venkateswara Temple.
The donation follows Anna’s heartfelt act of offering her hair at the Padmavathi Kalyana Katta on Sunday, April 13, as a gesture of gratitude for her son’s recovery from a fire accident in Singapore. She offered Tala Neelalu yesterday.
During her visit, she also participated in serving anna prasadam to pilgrims, reflecting her deep commitment to the temple’s traditions and philanthropy.
The Sri Venkateswara Anna Prasadam Trust, a cornerstone of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), feeds thousands of devotees daily, with donations like Anna’s helping sustain this noble cause. TTD officials expressed their appreciation for her contribution, noting that it will aid in continuing the trust’s mission of providing free, nutritious meals to pilgrims.
Anna’s visit and donation have garnered widespread attention, with devotees and supporters praising her humility and devotion.
Anna, a Christian by birth, formally expressed her faith in Hinduism before offering prayers at TTD, in accordance with the temple’s rules. Although she is married to Pawan Kalyan, she continues to practice Christianity and has not officially converted to Hinduism.
