Amaravati: Contracts to businesspeople of CBN’s own caste?

The state government has granted contracts totaling ₹37,702 crore for 59 essential infrastructure projects to further the vision of Amaravati as the capital city of Andhra Pradesh.

The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA), chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, finalized the agreements in its latest meeting, marking a major milestone in the capital’s revival after years of delays.

The contracts, revealed by Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana, encompass a variety of projects designed to convert Amaravati into a contemporary, sustainable center.

The main projects are the construction of the Legislative Assembly building, estimated at ₹765 crore, and the High Court complex, valued at ₹1,049 crore. Furthermore, five emblematic administrative towers, trunk infrastructure extending 151 kilometers, and residential complexes for government personnel have received approval. Accusations Allegations suggest that significant contracts were awarded to businesspeople and agencies affiliated with individuals of the caste associated with Andhra CM Naidu, the majority of whom are pro-TDP.

  1. NCC Ltd. has secured projects valued at over ₹10,000 crore. This company is affiliated with pro-TDP interests, having secured numerous contracts in Telangana during both the TDP administration and the current Congress government, as Revanth Reddy is recognized as an associate of Naidu.
  • BSR Infra will execute the construction of bungalows for ministers and judges. BSR Infra is owned by Jagapathi Chowdary and Balusu Srinivasa Rao.

  • KMV Projects has been assigned the construction of houses for secretaries. This company also supports the TDP.

  • Bollineni Krishnayya, a Kamma entrepreneur, secured contracts totaling Rs 800 crore.

  • MVR Infra, owned by Kamma entrepreneur Mupp Venkatrao, has been given further contracts for Rs 800 crore.

  • RVR Infra, owned by Rayala Venkateswara Rao, has secured numerous contracts worth crores and is closely associated with the TDP.
