Actor and writer Posani Krishna Murali is currently serving in jail after a court in Andhra Pradesh’s Annamayya district sent him to judicial custody for 14 days for making derogatory remarks against Deputy Chief Minister and actor Pawan Kalyan.
He has developed pain in his chest and was taken to Kadapa hospital for further medications. The government said Posani is treated as per the rules, and medical facilities are being provided.
The YSRC party alleged that Posani’s health is deteriorating and the 67-year-old actor-writer has heart-related ailments. The party said that the government is taking revenge on Posani by making him go through humiliation and denying medical facilities.
Fans of the Telugu Desam Party and Jana Sena Party assert that Posani is bearing the consequences of his previous actions. They cite his vicious and vulgar remarks against Chandrababu Naidu, Lokesh, and Pawan Kalyan as evidence.
They also point out that YS Jagan’s government forced Naidu to endure hardship in jail, despite his advanced age and poor health conditions. Against this backdrop, they justified Posani’s ‘treatment’.
The actor was arrested following a complaint by Jana Sena leader Jogineni Mani, who alleged that he made disparaging remarks against Jana Sena president and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. The complainant further asserted that Posani made derogatory comments about a certain caste, thereby attempting to incite animosity among castes, cinema enthusiasts, and political factions.
Posani, who formerly held the position of Chairman of the AP Film Development Corporation under YSRCP’s tenure, has been charged under sections 111, 196, 353, 299, 341, and 336 (3) of BNS.
