The Andhra Pradesh government has decided to implement poll promises. The Chandrababu Naidu-led government has been facing a paucity of funds due to weak economic and revenue conditions. But there is a growing distress among people for the non-implementation of welfare schemes.

Sensing the backlash from the people for the delay of certain schemes, Naidu has announced a timeline.

The timeline for welfare schemes

– Financial aid of ₹20,000 for fishermen starting from April.

– The “Annadata Sukhibhava” scheme for farmers set to be launched in May.

– “Thalliki Vandanam” for students before the academic year starts in June.

– A Mega DSC notification is planned after the MLC election code ends.

The Telugu Desam–Jana Sena–BJP alliance came into power, defeating YS Jagan Reddy’s party with the promise to increase amounts to various existing welfare schemes. But except for increasing money to the pension scheme, the Naidu government was not able to implement the poll promises.

Naidu said the previous government messed up the entire financial sources of the state and took the state into a debt trap. Hence, he said he needed more time to bring the economy on track before implementing promises.
