In the wake of Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk’s meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the United States, Tesla Inc. has begun recruiting in India.
According to advertisements that were published on the electric vehicle manufacturer’s LinkedIn site on Monday, the company was looking for candidates to fill thirteen roles that included both front-facing and back-end tasks.
This gives the impression that the company is getting ready to enter the Indian market.
Tesla had planned to enter the Indian market earlier but backed off later due to concerns surrounding the increased import duties as well as other regulations.
The recent meeting between Prime Minister Modi, Musk, and President Donald Trump in Washington, DC, laid the groundwork for Tesla’s plans to expand its operations in India.
Subsequently, Trump announced that Prime Minister Modi agreed to commence conversations with the purpose of reducing the trade imbalance of the United States and improving the acquisition of military equipment by the United States. These discussions would include the implementation of measures to eventually give F-35 jet fighters.
