YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) MP YS Avinash Reddy some strong comments after a meeting with the son of former Deputy Chief Minister SB Amzath Basha in Kadapa. Speaking to party supporters and the press, Avinash Reddy hinted at a strong comeback for the YSRCP, suggesting that the party would settle scores with its rivals once it regains power in Andhra Pradesh.
The meeting, which took place at Amzath Basha’s residence, comes amid ongoing efforts by the YSRCP to regroup and strengthen its base in the state following recent political setbacks.
“We are watching everything—every injustice, every move against us. When we return to power, those who have wronged the people of Andhra Pradesh will face the consequences. Our revenge will be through the trust of the people and the strength of our resolve,” he declared, without naming specific individuals or parties.
Political analysts see this as a veiled jab at the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and its allies, who have been in power since the YSRCP’s defeat in the 2024 Assembly elections.
The mention of “revenge” echoes sentiments expressed recently by YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy, who has accused the TDP government of misusing police and administrative machinery for political vendettas.
Amzath Basha, a seasoned politician and a key Muslim face of the party, has been a vocal supporter of Avinash Reddy, and his family continues to wield considerable clout in the region.
While Avinash Reddy’s remarks have energized YSRCP cadres, they have also drawn criticism from opponents.
A TDP spokesperson dismissed the comments as “desperate posturing,” stating, “The YSRCP is clutching at straws after losing the people’s mandate. Talk of revenge only exposes their frustration.”
