Actor and Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna made headlines by securing the coveted car registration number TG09F0001 for a staggering Rs 7.75 lakh at an online auction conducted by the Telangana Regional Transport Authority (RTA) at its Khairatabad office on Saturday.
The prominent actor and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader participated in the bidding for the premium number plate, outbidding competitors to claim the unique ‘0001’ registration for his new vehicle, reportedly a BMW.
The auction, which saw significant interest, contributed to the RTA’s earnings of Rs 37.15 lakh from fancy number plates.
Balakrishna’s acquisition of the fancy number has sparked buzz among fans and the public, with many praising his penchant for exclusivity. This move adds to the actor’s larger-than-life persona, both on-screen and off-screen, as he continues to make waves in cinema and politics.
The veteran actor, recently honored with the Padma Bhushan for his contributions to Indian cinema, is gearing up for the release of Akhanda 2 – Thaandavam, a much-anticipated sequel with director Boyapati Sreenu, slated for September 25, 2025
