The much-anticipated “Hari Hara Veera Mallu,” starring Pawan Kalyan, has been postponed yet again. This is the seventh time that the film was postponed, or changed its release dace since the project was announced in 2020.
Slated for a May 9, 2025 release, the film’s team has unofficially hinted at a new date of May 30, 2025, due to incomplete shooting and extensive post-production work.
This latest postponement has sparked a wave of frustration among fans, while social media platforms, are buzzing with memes and jokes poking fun at the film’s seemingly endless delays.
Fans, who have been eagerly awaiting the release of Hari Hara Veera Mallu, expressed their disappointment online.
Some users even listed the film’s delay history, claiming it has been pushed back 11 times since 2022, though seven is the widely reported figure. As the saga of delays continues, social media’s comedic takes have kept the film in the spotlight, albeit for unintended reasons.
Hari Hara Veera Mallu, directed by Jyothi Krishna with significant portions helmed by Krish Jagarlamudi, was launched in 2020. Five years later, it is still unfinished. The film has faced numerous hurdles, including Pawan Kalyan’s political commitments as Andhra Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister, his recent back pain, and the CGI and VFX requirements for the 17th-century epic.
Sources indicate that Kalyan still needs to shoot key scenes, with only four days of filming left, but his availability remains uncertain.
The film’s repeated delays have also raised concerns about its financial viability. Amazon Prime Video, which acquired the digital rights, is reportedly frustrated and has issued a warning to the makers, threatening a 50% cut or cancellation of the OTT deal if the May 9 deadline is missed.
