KCR’s fiery speech at BRS@25: Congress is No.1 villain for Telangana

In a powerful address at the Bharata Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Silver Jubilee celebrations held in Warangal, BRS chief and the first Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) launched a scathing attack on the ruling Congress government, calling it the “number one villain” for Telangana.

The massive public meeting, attended by lakhs of party supporters, marked 25 years of BRS’s formation and saw KCR reaffirm his party’s commitment to the state’s welfare while criticizing the Congress for its governance failures.

Key highlights of KCR’s Speech:

Congress is the number one villain for Telangana

KCR accused the Congress of failing Telangana on every front. “The Congress party is the number one villain for Telangana, whether it is now or ever,” he declared, resonating with the crowd’s sentiments. He claimed that his warnings during the 2023 Assembly election campaign about Congress’s false promises, such as the 10-gram gold assurance, had proven true.

Duplicate Gandhis

KCR criticized Congress leaders, accusing them of doing just one thing: filling their own bags with money and sending a share to the party’s high command in Delhi. He also took a swipe at the current Gandhis – an indirect reference to Rahul Gandhi – calling them “duplicate” Gandhis. Recalling events before the elections, KCR pointed out that these “duplicate Gandhis” had come down from New Delhi to Telangana and promised to offer Rs 15,000 under the Rythu Bandhu scheme, more than what his government was providing at the time. “But look at what happened to that promise,” he remarked.

20 percent commission government

KCR recalled an incident where contractors protested at the Finance Minister’s chamber under the current Congress government, demanding the clearance of pending bills.

“Allegations have surfaced that funds meant for public welfare are being siphoned into private pockets. Over 200 contractors, who were denied payment unless they paid commissions, stormed the Finance Minister’s office at the Secretariat to protest. They raised serious concerns about the rampant commission culture,” he said.

Congress even will sell Osmania university

KCR strongly opposed the Congress government’s handling of the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRA), alleging it had demolished homes of the poor. He also criticized the proposed sale of lands belonging to the University of Hyderabad (HCU). He cautioned that Congress might even sell Osmania University land next.

Halt Operation Kagar

K. Chandrashekhar Rao has urged the BJP-led Centre to halt its Operation Kagar against Maoists and instead invite them for peace talks. Criticizing the government for using its power to unleash violence, he called on the gathering to show their support for his appeal with applause.

BRS is lifeline of Telangana

KCR energized the BRS cadre, describing the party as the “lifeline of Telangana.” He urged supporters to prepare for a political fight against Congress’s misgovernance, predicting that BRS would see “good days” soon.

He praised them for holding the establishment accountable and giving a voice to the voiceless. Strongly criticizing the police for trying to silence them by filing cases, he warned that the police should make a note in their diaries: the BRS would be returning to power in the next elections.
