Raj Kasireddy: Vijay Sai Reddy is a cheat and a liar

Andhra Pradesh liquor scam controversy is turning into a huge issue. Businessman and former YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) associate Raj Kasireddy has publicly accused former Rajya Sabha MP V. Vijay Sai Reddy of being a “cheater” and spreading falsehoods about his role in the alleged Rs 4,000-crore scam.

Will reveal Sai Reddy’s true character

In an audio statement released on April 19, 2025, Kasireddy vowed to expose Sai Reddy’s “true character” and urged the media to reserve judgment until he can present his side of the story, once he secures legal protection.

Kasireddy, who is reportedly in the United States and evading summons from the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the liquor scam, responded to Sai Reddy’s recent claims that he was the “mastermind” behind the illicit liquor dealings during the YSRCP regime (2019–2024).

In his audio, Kasireddy refuted these allegations as “baseless” and accused Sai Reddy of deflecting blame to protect himself.

“Vijay Sai Reddy is lying to save his own skin. I will reveal everything about him once my legal proceedings are complete,” Kasireddy stated by Sakshi.

He further claimed that SIT officials had issued notices to his mother at his Hyderabad residence, to which he responded within 24 hours, questioning the nature of the summons.

The accusations stem from Sai Reddy’s April 18, 2025, statements to the media after a three-hour SIT interrogation in Vijayawada. Sai Reddy alleged that Kasireddy, along with Rajampet MP Mithun Reddy and others, orchestrated the liquor scam, controlling liquor brands and securing a Rs100-crore loan for distilleries.

Describing Kasireddy as a “clever criminal,” Sai Reddy claimed he was unaware of the money trail and that Kasireddy alone knew the “Big Boss” who benefited from the scam.

Kasireddy’s audio rebuttal has intensified the public feud, with him asserting that Sai Reddy’s allegations are part of a smear campaign. He hinted at possessing evidence that could implicate Sai Reddy and promised to disclose details once his Supreme Court petitions for legal protection are resolved.

The liquor scam probe, initiated by the TDP-led NDA government in November 2024, has uncovered alleged irregularities in the Andhra Pradesh State Beverages Corporation Limited, including cash-only transactions and the promotion of obscure liquor brands linked to YSRCP leaders. The SIT has questioned Sai Reddy, Mithun Reddy, and others, with Kasireddy remaining a key figure of interest.
