A video posted by a self-proclaimed Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supporter has sparked intense debate online, questioning the governance of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
The clip, which has gone viral with over 300,000 views in two days, features the supporter openly admitting that he personally benefited more under the previous YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government led by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The video, posted on X by a man identifying himself as Ravi Teja from Kakinada, expresses frustration over Naidu’s leadership since his return to power in June 2024. Standing before a TDP flag, Ravi claims that despite his long-standing support for the party, he has seen little progress in welfare initiatives under Naidu.
“During Jagan’s time, my family received real support—my mother got a pension, my kids benefited from Amma Vodi, and Rythu Bharosa helped with my farming expenses. Now, all I hear are grand promises like the ‘Super Six’ schemes, but where’s the implementation?” he questioned.
His remarks come as the TDP government faces scrutiny over the delayed rollout of its flagship schemes, including the ₹1,500 pension for women, free bus travel, and employment programs.
Ravi’s comparison between Naidu’s governance and Jagan’s direct cash transfer policies has fueled discussions about public expectations versus long-term economic planning.
As soon as the video gained traction, YSRCP supporters amplified it on social media, portraying it as proof of Naidu’s failure to meet his promises. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s recent criticism of Naidu’s financial policies further aligned with Ravi’s grievances.
“Even hardcore TDP supporters now realize Jagan’s governance worked better for the common people,” one YSRCP supporter commented.
TDP leaders, however, were quick to downplay the video. Party spokesperson Buddha Venkanna dismissed it as an isolated case, stating, “One person’s frustration doesn’t define public sentiment. Naidu is working tirelessly to restore Andhra’s economy after the mess left by Jagan.”
Political analysts view the viral video as a symptom of growing impatience among sections of TDP’s support base. While Naidu’s government is focused on infrastructure and long-term development, public perception may be leaning toward immediate benefits—something Jagan’s welfare policies effectively provided.
