T Harish Rao, a former minister and senior BRS MLA, slammed the Congress government for putting Telangana’s farmers in pain by failing to secure an adequate supply of urea.

Harish Rao wrote on X that after police were obliged to provide urea tokens in Mahabubabad lately, similar huge lines have arisen in Jagtial. Farmers who had to stand in huge lines for hours under the sweltering sun were observed depositing their land passbooks and other documents to save their place in the line.

Reviving dark days

He compared the scenario to the sufferings endured by farmers in undivided Andhra Pradesh during the Congress regime, accusing the Revanth Reddy government of reviving those dark days.

“In Telangana, where farmers were treated like kings under BRS rule, the credit for forcing them back onto the streets goes to Revanth Reddy,” he told reporters.

He chastised Congress for failing to keep promises made in the Farmer Declaration, such as loan forgiveness, farmer assurances, and crop bonuses, describing them as hollow lies and outright fraud.
