Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) launched a scathing attack on the Telangana state government’s budget, calling it a “betrayal of Telangana’s people” and a “bonanza for Delhi.”
KTR accused the ruling Congress government of failing to fulfill its promise of implementing six key guarantees within 100 days of assuming power. He also criticized the government’s claim of transforming Telangana into a trillion-dollar economy, dismissing it as an unrealistic narrative.
KTR specifically targeted Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, arguing that the budget allocations reflected a lack of financial understanding among Congress leaders.
“They speak of grand visions, but the numbers don’t add up. This budget is nothing but a 40% commission scam designed to siphon funds to their masters in Delhi,” he alleged, drawing sharp protests from the treasury benches.
Taking direct aim at Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, KTR accused him of misleading the public while failing to deliver on the Congress party’s electoral promises. “Revanth Reddy is an Oosaravelli—changing colors every day. The people of Telangana see through this drama,” he remarked.
Highlighting discrepancies in budget allocations, KTR criticized the government for failing to support farmers adequately. “They promised ₹23,000 crore annually for 70 lakh farmers across 1.53 crore acres, but allocated just ₹15,075 crore. Who are they fooling?” he questioned.
He further accused the Congress government of ignoring key issues such as unemployment and financial mismanagement.
“Farmers are ignored, youth are jobless, and the state’s finances are being bled dry to fund empty rhetoric,” he said, urging the Assembly to reject what he termed a “disastrous” financial plan.
KTR’s remarks sparked a heated debate in the Assembly, with Congress legislators defending the budget as a balanced approach to development and accusing him of misleading the public for political gain.
