Srinidhi Shetty, who rose to fame with the blockbuster “KGF” series, made her Telugu debut opposite Nani in “HIT 3.” She played the role of Mrudula, the wife of Nani’s character, a fierce cop named Arjun Sarkar.

Playing Mrudula

Speaking about her role, Srinidhi said, “I play Mrudula, a woman with a completely different mindset compared to Arjun Sarkar. Usually, female characters don’t get much importance in investigative thrillers, but director Sailesh Kolanu has woven my character beautifully into the story. Mrudula’s role has a strong and meaningful connection to the narrative.”

Nani is a great co-star

She also praised Nani as a supportive co-star, saying, “Nani acts brilliantly. It’s a great experience working with someone who ensures actresses are comfortable on set. Working with actors like him makes the entire experience smooth and enjoyable.”

Despite being a native Kannada speaker, Srinidhi took on the challenge of dubbing for herself in Telugu.

“Yes, I dubbed for my character in my own voice. Initially, a dubbing artist recorded the lines, but I insisted on using my voice. The director was happy with my Telugu. I made sure my diction sounded natural, like a Telugu girl, not a Kannada girl,” she explained.

Violent films

Like KGF, HIT 3 also received an A-rating from the censor board for its intense action and violence. When asked why she often appears in violent films, Srinidhi jokingly replied, quoting a popular line from KGF: “I don’t like violence, but violence likes me.”

Meanwhile, rumors have circulated that she lost the role of Sita in Nitesh Tiwari’s Bollywood epic Ramayana due to Sai Pallavi’s selection. Srinidhi strongly denied these reports.

Problems with Sai Pallavi?

“This is completely false. I never blamed Sai Pallavi. Let me clarify: I was called for an audition for the role of Sita. After the audition, I didn’t hear back from the team. That’s it. It’s the makers’ vision that decides who fits the role. Later, through the media, I came to know that Sai Pallavi was selected after considering several actresses. She will undoubtedly do an amazing job. She had no hand in me not getting selected,” Srinidhi clarified.

Currently, Srinidhi Shetty is also working on another Telugu film, Telusu Kaada, where she stars opposite Sidhu Jonnalagadda.
