Nayanthara is called the lady superstar, although she recently declared that she will not be using this tag henceforth. She is one of the biggest female stars in Indian cinema, especially in the Tamil film industry. She commands strong opening collections for her female-centric movies in Tamil Nadu. But her stardom is waning. Or it seems so.
Nayanthara has witnessed many flops in theaters in the recent past. The only big hit she had was in Bollywood. That film was Shah Rukh Khan’s starrer “Jawan.”
She had another flop result with a new film, Test. This Tamil film, directed by S. Sashikanth, directly premiered on Netflix on April 4, 2025. She played the role of a wife to actor Madhavan. The film also starred Siddharth. Revolving around three main actors—Nayanthara, Madhavan, and Siddharth—the film dealt with the theme of good and bad, how even good persons become bad and bad persons become good during testing times.
Though the central theme is appreciable, the director’s narration was boring. The audience’s patience was put to the test during its nearly two and a half-hour runtime. The audience took to social media to express their feelings, slamming Nayanthara’s film. The reactions are strong.
Dhanush’s fans began trolling her as well. She recently had a falling out with Dhanush, calling him an egoist and accusing him of trying to exact revenge on her. When Nayanthara used ‘Beyond The Scenes’ clips of “Naanum Rowdy Dhaan” (2015) for her Netflix documentary, Dhanush filed a case against her. Nayanthara alleged that Dhanush demanded Rs 10 crore for this clip and said he had a grudge against her and her husband, Vignesh Shivan. She and her husband, Vignesh Shivan, met during the filming of “Naanum Rowdy Dhaan,” which was produced by Dhanush. The case is still ongoing.
Now that “Test” received bad reviews and negative reactions poured in, Dhanush’s fans stepped in and further trolled her.
