The release of “Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1 – Sword vs Spirit,” the long-delayed Telugu period action drama starring Pawan Kalyan, continues to remain uncertain. Initially scheduled for March 28, 2025, and later pushed to May 9, the film now appears unlikely to meet even the revised date, with buzz suggesting another delay—possibly to May 30 or even June.
Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and A.M. Jyothi Krishna, the film has been in the works since September 2020, facing a turbulent production journey.
Pawan Kalyan’s youngest son, Mark Shankar, was recently injured in Singapore and is currently undergoing treatment in Hyderabad. Despite his busy schedule as Andhra Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister, the actor-politician has been staying at his Hyderabad home to be with his son during recovery.
Due to this, Pawan Kalyan has not completed the remaining work for his film. Even the dubbing is still pending.
As a result, doubts continue to grow over whether the film will release as planned on May 9, 2025.
Promotions for the film have also hit a standstill. The two songs released so far failed to make much impact online, and Mega Surya Production has reportedly paused further marketing efforts, signaling internal uncertainty.
Compounding the situation, streaming partner Amazon Prime Video is reportedly reevaluating its digital distribution deal if the film misses its current deadline. A delay could force the producers to renegotiate or seek a new OTT buyer—no easy task this close to release.
Director A.M. Jyothi Krishna is currently steering post-production efforts, including dubbing, background score, and VFX work, in a race against time.
Set against the 17th-century Mughal backdrop, Hari Hara Veera Mallu follows the story of an outlaw tasked with stealing the legendary Koh-i-Noor diamond. Pawan Kalyan leads the ensemble cast, joined by Nidhhi Agerwal, Bobby Deol as the main antagonist, and Nora Fatehi. Music is composed by Academy Award-winner M.M. Keeravani.
