Additionally, fans are expressing a strong demand for a Telugu dubbed version of ‘Chhaava,’ highlighting its cultural resonance beyond its Hindi release.
There are also reports that the film was first offered to superstar Mahesh Babu. It was said that Mahesh Babu rejected the story narrated by director Laxman Laxman Utekar. He reportedly felt it was too mediocre. Since this news report came out, many followers on X.com are trolling Mahesh Babu. They slammed him selecting a mediocre film like “Guntur Kaaram” over “Chhava.”
Director denies these speculations
Laxman Utekar has denied of approaching Mahesh Babu. He said in his mind Vicky Kaushal was the only one when he planned this movie. “Vicky has the perfect look and body launaguge to play Sambhaji Maharaj.
He said he felt actor’s aura when he first met Vicky Kaushal. “It felt like a lion was coming,” he said, and further said when they tested him for luck, they were 100 percent sure that Vicky is Sambhaji Maharaj. “When we saw him in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj’s outfit, holding that sword, everyone stood to attention,” he added.
